Matt Stajan Stinks

Stats or no stats,
Matt S is no Mats

Merry Christmas!!

As the Buds continue today's trend of losing to teams called Canadians(ens), I am hopeful that they can turn both this game and this season around.

New Years is just around the corner, and seeing as I'm going to be busy over the holidays and making limited posts I'll talk about it now. The new year represents an opportunity for all of us to take a look at the year we're leaving and make adjustments going forward.

This blog is my first foray into writing, blogging or any kind of reporting and my first five posts have been a learning experience. That said they haven't garnered too much response and have seemed to me at least to be too wordy and rambling. Going forward I will be trying to clean up my writing and make this a more interesting and stimulating blog. Any feedback you can give would be very much appreciated, positive comments are always great but cristicism is equally welcome, provided it is constructive.

Thank you to anybody who has visited my site, see you in 2010.

GO LEAFS GO!!!

The Number 13 & Killer Bee's

When you see thirteen what do you see?

A shocking film about the coming of age for a young girl? Not likely.

A number renowned for its associations with bad luck? Possibly.

A certain Swedish departed captain? Yes I'm sure you thought of him.

This, for once is not about Mats, not entirely at least.

RePost: Brian Burke's Secret Gameplan

I originally posted this on the Barlikosphere via a fanpost on PPP but I think it's worthy of being reposted here. I'm leaving it alone in terms of editing for the most part. So this document represents an approximation of Brian Burkes thought process going through some of the early moves he's made in creating this Leafs team.

The Leafs have statistically been one of the worst teams defensively this year (again) which doesn't make much sense at first glance: we have a defense first coach and we've upgraded our D-core to be as good as any in the league. In my eyes the problem for the Blue & White is their lack of talent on the front end. While consistently out shooting your opponent may seem to indicate a dominating forward performance, and sometimes it does, in the majority of cases this year it has been the result of inferior talent making poor shot choices. The net result of this: lost opportunities and lost possessions, as any basketball fan can tell you defensive rebounds are easier to get than offensive rebounds.

De fence to keep de bad guys out

TOTAL ROSTER ANALYSIS pt. 2

Defense Second. We actually have a solid group here, you could say Burke took advantage of us the way his hands have been all over our D... Just show the nice people where that is on the doll.

Monumental first post, cue the pregame ceremony (to be later outdone by 2 hour long habs tribute to hockey blogs in general)

Recently I've noticed that hardly anybody blogs about the leafs. So, with a little hope stored up from this recent success we've been having I thought I might toss my hat into the "real blog" arena. I'm relatively new at this, so act like a college girl at mardi gras and bare with me.

Another thing I've noticed is nobody seems to have any suggestions as to what the leafs lineup should look like and what changes should be made, so wait no further. I present my

TOTAL ROSTER ANALYSIS.

kk guys i know you's excited so we will start in net and unwellwood (work out).
I'll present my thoughts on each player and close with who I would keep and who I would show the door. Maybe some dream additions if I feel like it, you'll just have to read and see.
